The Fairey Gannet saw service for the RAN as an anti -submarine aircraft operating off the HMAS Melbourne in the 50s and 60s.

Located in Moorabbin, a suburb of Melbourne is the Moorabbin Air Museum or Australian National Aviation Museum. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays, it is very reasonably priced at $10 AUD for adults and $5 for kids it is staffed and run mainly by volunteers. It houses approximately 12 full sixed planes outside and a similar number inside a large hanger, with a bunch of other items such as uniforms, engines and books. Well sign posted you are free to wander around the items on display. They have a mix of military and non military aircraft and several hands on displays. 20140709_114820 20140709_123914
